about me

Hello, I'm Rachel

I understand how precious the time of pregnancy and welcoming a new baby can be. That’s why I believe it’s essential to build a trusting connection with anyone you welcome into your home. So I’d love to take a moment to share a little about myself.

I live in Wymondham, nestled in the heart of Norfolk, with my husband, our two daughters, and a couple of feline friends. Home life is full of energy and laughter, and it keeps me grounded and motivated.

My journey into doula work began with my own experiences of pregnancy and motherhood, which showed me just how transformative, and at times overwhelming, these moments can be.

Before becoming a doula, I spent several years serving as a police officer. While that role taught me strength, empathy, and resilience, it was becoming a mother that truly redefined me. My own two birth experiences were deeply empowering, and they opened my eyes to how strong and capable you can feel at birth when surrounded by the right care and understanding.

It was this experience that inspired me to change paths. I left policing to dedicate myself to supporting families as they welcome new life into the world. I believe every family deserves to feel informed, confident, and nurtured — not just during birth, but in the precious, often tender weeks that follow.

I completed professional birth & postnatal doula training with Nurturing Birth, a recognised UK-based training provider, and continue to reflect on and develop my doula work through their ongoing mentoring programme.

As a doula, I bring a calm, grounded presence, a listening ear, and a heartfelt belief that every birth journey is unique and deserving of respect. It’s an honour to walk alongside families as they navigate this new chapter, helping them to feel informed, in control, and never alone.

When I’m not at a birth or postnatal visit, you’ll usually find me at home dancing in the kitchen with my girls, learning to crochet, or enjoying a good cup of tea (and cake) with family and friends.
